My name is Daniel ReseĢndiz
I am a painter

  • Coming from an academic background in graphic design and an active career in graffiti and urban art, the work of Mack (1989) involves in a didactic way numerous symbols, stimuli and resources with which we are familiar when living in a community. urban, mediated by the global, hyper-connectivity and the logos of gigantic corporations.
  • In his search to challenge the limits of his work, Mack transitions between the execution of works in the public space and the discretion of his studio.
  • This dynamic of inside and outside in a constant dialogue allows painting to evolve indefinitely and to nourish itself with elements that belong to the vitality of the streets where monumental murals are executed, as well as to the personal intimacy of small-format painting.
  • This game of contrasts is also the trigger for other configurations in Mack's work: The obsessive pointillism that gives volume to the floating organic forms that allude to cellular structures or microorganisms under a microscope, coexisting with spots that degrade with a synthetic fluorescence. , without contours or textures, like those we would find in an advertising billboard or in the wallpaper of our smartphone.
  • The gestural outline of an arc made with the crayon used to make a tag, confined in the same space of abstract expressionism and a Nike sign. The texture of a wall consumed by time covered in spray.
My Work comes from graffiti, for a long time I was in a conscious search not to get stuck in just graffiti, a search that does not end, it is about finding a balance in color contrasts, points, volumes.

The base of the present graffiti, a solid fill and black outline, now with these more organic forms could be like a representation of the human being without being so figurative, at the same time these same forms dialogue and interact with other elements that appear in the painting as brand logos, signs, textures that I remember from the street: as a metaphor for that interaction that we have every day with our urban environment.

Game of also replicating in the street what is done in the studio, to return later, that dynamic has remained constant and it is what has made the work evolve, this language could not exist without this dynamic of inside and outside in that dialogue . The organic forms are a representation of us who are in a constant flow of information, being bombarded by these stimuli. Contrast and dialogue between the inside and the outside, between the organic and the synthetic.
